Custom finishes can be applied to all reclaimed wood projects and material offered by The Woodshop of Texas, and will add a unique flavor to your project. The Woodshop recently added staining and finishing to the list of available finishes. We offer finished tables, countertops, fireplace mantels and beams.

Distressed Finish is what we term “original face,” and is the most popular with our clientele. We go to great lengths to protect the exterior faces of our material. We can provide "skin" material to build box beam material that has the outside texture but is hollow inside.

Rough Finish is what comes directly out of the saw - it is the most cost effective.

S4S or "surface 4 sides" is the smooth finish. We achieve this by hand with sand paper or by machine with planner knives.

Rounding or Chamfering edges can be done to beams, mantels, brackets, tops or flooring.

Hand Distressing is a great finish to get the old weathered texture out of the wood. This works great on new species of wood and also reclaimed species of wood. It raises the grain so you get more of an old barn siding finish.

European Sculpting is our newest finish. It also works great on new or reclaimed wood. The texture of European Sculpting of more of an old world worn finish. Each contoured face is hand finished and crafted.
