ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF RECLAIMED WOOD
New construction or remodeling,
reclaimed wood offers a environmentally responsible
aspect to your project that is rich in both character and
history. Most of our reclaimed timber is suitable as green building
material for any of your personal and professional wood projects. Our
milling facility and custom finishes will give your antique wood project
a unique and eco-friendly flavor that cannot be matched with fresh cut
lumber.
By salvaging these vintage materials,
The Woodshop of Texas has saved millions of yards of space in our
landfills today. With our custom milling facility, we are able to recycle
the reclaimed antique wood into flooring, beams, staircases, and trusses that will
be stunning additions to your home or remodeling project.
In
many areas
of our country, the government is offering incentives to builders and
homeowners that use environmentally green products in their projects. By
using this eco-friendly alternative in your project, you will be saving
trees as well as precious landfill space.
Today, The Woodshop of
Texas
inventories over 1.3 million board feet of reclaimed lumber which would
have otherwise been buried in a landfill. Once the lumber is on site at
our milling facility, we do everything we can to use 100% of the product
we salvage. The shavings produced by our machines are collected and
distributed to local horse stables for bedding, and even our sawdust is
recycled to help local companies with spills and clean ups.
Reclaimed wood is a
wonderful green building material. By
using these recycled woods, you will help to preserve our natural resources and lessen
the burden on our landfills.
