RECLAIMED WOOD FLOORING
Reclaimed woods are a superior
product for flooring,
as vintage hardwoods’
strength and durability cannot be matched by contemporary flooring
products in today’s marketplace. Reclaimed
wood flooring is a natural product with a diverse selection of colors and
grain patterns. Old wood flooring materials have many
advantages: the reclaimed wood’s exquisite and unique look, its
environmental contribution as a green building material, the history of
the wood’s origins, and its physical attributes such as strength and
durability. Reclaimed wood flooring is stronger, lighter, and harder
than fresh cut products, and can last indefinitely with proper care.
Reclaimed wood flooring is a smart investment.
There is no depreciation on a reclaimed
wood floor and in fact, antique wood flooring usually increases the
resale value of a home. Real wood floors offer beauty for a lifetime —
or longer! Thus, reclaimed wood floors cost less long term and add value
to your home.

Many of the reclaimed woods offered by The Woodshop of Texas
are only available in large
quantities through reclamation. In the past, wood was the primary building
material because it was strong, relatively inexpensive, and abundant.
Today, however, certain types of wood are no longer available except as
reclaimed wood. The rarity of this antique wood will add quality and
value to your home or project.
Reclaimed wood
flooring options include:
Antique Heart Pine,
Antique Oak,
Chestnut,
Douglas Fir,
Maple, and
Kentucky Poplar. Our milling facility
recycles these vintage woods into custom milled tongue and groove flooring
that will add incredible character and depth to any room.
The
Woodshop of Texas can also supply
antique wood staircase components in any
species currently in stock. All components are manufactured at our
on-site milling facility so whatever sizes or dimensions your project
demands, we can meet your needs. Components we currently offer in
reclaimed wood are: treads, nosings, risers, posts, handrails, and
balusters.
