Our fresh cut Western Red Cedar timbers
are brought in from British Columbia
and the Pacific Northwest region. We bring in timbers in sizes Since these timbers are fresh cut, we can mill them into any size you require. Western Red Cedar is a naturally dry product, so you will not get much if any warping or twisting like you may encounter with sapwoods such as yellow pine. Cedar will however develop some checking (stress cracks) which is result of the exit of what little moisture is in the timber. This only adds to the character of the wood, and does not affect strength. Western Red Cedar has a reddish brown tint to it and is a very nice option for interior beams as well as exterior applications.
