RECLAIMED HICKORY
Reclaimed Hickory
is found in the same structures as
our Reclaimed Oak. We salvage most of this product from family barns
built between 1830 and 1900 in the Ohio/ Pennsylvania/ Virginia
region of our country. Every component of these barns is salvaged,
cleaned up and recycled
in
our line of Reclaimed Hickory.
As an exposed beam,
Reclaimed Hickory looks identical to the Oak, but that is where the
similarities end. The strength and resilience of reclaimed hickory
is unmatched. Once you cut open a Reclaimed Hickory beam, you will
find a world of character within it. Mineral streaks, worm trace,
stress cracks (which do not affect the durability or strength of the
wood), and the added character from the mortise and peg holes give
Reclaimed Hickory a very rustic look.
